International Printing
Home Up

This page explains how to set your Cannon BJC-4550 printer up to print the pages on Scott International sized paper. It won't make much sense until you already have your Cannon BJC-4550 printer installed and have done a little playing with it. But once you have a basic familiarity with the printer, it will all make sense.

Follow these steps:
bulletOpen the printer's property page (For Windows 95, click Start, then Settings, then Printers, then right-click on the Cannon BJC-4550 icon and select Properties. Don't remember exact Windows 3.x procedure - consult your manual).
bulletClick on the Paper tab in the Properties window.
bulletSet the Media Type to "High Resolution Paper".
bulletClick on the "Set.." button in the Paper Size box.
bulletSet the Width to 9.75" and the Height to 11.75" in the Save Custom Size box. Yes, I know these aren't the real paper sizes; the odd settings are needed to get the pre-printed borders on my pages to align properly.
bulletDrag the "?" icon to the Custom Sized Saved 1 docking location at the right.
bulletAnswer "OK".
bulletClick the "OK" button at the bottom.
bulletClick the Graphics tab in the Properties window.
bulletSet the Print Quality to "High".
bulletClick the green check mark in the "Fine" box.
bulletSet Color Model to "Monochrome".
bulletSet Print Mode to "Automatic".
bulletClick the "OK" button at the bottom of the Properties window.

To print:
bulletOpen the xxx.pdf file you want to print by double-clicking on it in File Manager or Windows Explorer.
bulletIn the Adobe Acrobat window, click File, then Print Setup.
bulletSet the Paper Size to "Custom".
bulletClick the "OK" button.
bulletIn the Adobe Acrobat window, click File, then Print.
bulletPrint as usual.
